We received a mantel clock for a wedding gift 36 years ago, but it finally quit working. I found this clock. It was the perfect size & it was very very attractive. Although, the clock is made of durable, hard plastic the clock appears as if it is wood. We inserted one AA battery & that was it. All we need to do now is enjoy our new clock.

I’m in love with my new clock. It had to be special because it was replacing one my mum bought for me, that ironically stop this year just before she died! I searched high and low to find a mantel clock that would compliment my simple but elegant style… I didn’t even mind waiting for it to arrive from the States.

When the box arrived, it seemed pretty light…then we seen why….this clock is totally plastic…it’s like a slightly larger version of any clock you could find in a dollar store. Almost $70…ridiculous! Very disappointed….may I add….it NEVER worked from the day we opened it =(…returned.

True all the other ones that came up in the search were wood, and this one was described as “walnut brown.” And true, after having bought it and feeling duped, I do see that it says “plastic case” way down in the bottom third of the page after the description, past the product overview, after the “about this item” section, below the hero image in the “from the brand” section, under the three rows of images in the “product description” section…if you keep scrolling way way down, you’ll finally see the word “plastic.”
That’s how you know the seller isn’t deliberately trying to mislead you, because it’s right there in black and white. Word 885 of out ~907.

I like that it does NOT chime. I wanted one that if I fell asleep reading or watching TV, I am not woken up with chiming every 15 minutes. The family heirloom I had did, and went to one of the kids to enjoy. This looks like real wood but it is not. its very lightweight. It is a perfect size for the space I wanted it for

I was quite surprised and disappointed upon opening. It is very light weight, plastic, I expected something more substantial for the price. I immediately thought this looks like something I could have purchased at the Dollar Store for 10$
So far it’s keeping time , doing it’s job.

Nice clock visually. The case looks nice from a distance, but feels really cheapo. Keeps good time. For the price it is an ok value.
