I love these lights mostly because they are not LED. For some reason LED lights hurt my eyes and even make me feel a little dizzy so these are perfect. They’re nothing fancy but they work perfectly.

When I was looking for retro-50’s, white-on-white blinking lights in post-Christmas sales, I found twinkling lights (which I have also bought, tried out, and like) as well as non-blinking lights….and I found these lights, which are the closest to what I was looking for that I have found so far. When they arrived, they did not blink until I inserted the included flasher bulbs into the light string as per the instructions. By timing the insertion of the second flasher bulb, I was able to produce an effect in the lights very like the blinking lights of my childhood. The effect was worth the effort. I also plugged in the lights and kept them on 24/7 for 3 weeks, during which they worked perfectly. I am convinced that they are reliable and sturdy enough to last a few years.

I’m saving them for Christmas and New Year, but less a star since it comes minus the lighting control gadget so, no flicker effect. I’ll have to combine this with one I purchased last year that has the flicker effect. The length is impressive though, trails along good.

My birch tree came with built in lights. They worked for a few years but stopped working. I didn’t want to have to buy a whole new birch tree so I bought these lights and put them on the tree to give the same effect. These lights have a warm tone and give a nice cozy glow in my living room in the evening.
