This stuff is awesome! It does have a bit of a pungent odor, but it’s easy to apply (I used a foam brush). If you apply a thin coat, it dries very quickly. The instructions state that once dried it is “clear”, but it is actually a little more “yellow” in color (not bad, but noticeable that a coating has been applied). I have applied it to both thick rugs and thinner ones, and have not noticed any “bleed” through. We had a long carpet runner in our hallway that would always slide around. After applying a thin coat on the underside of this carpet, that carpet stays put! I will definitely continue to use this product and highly recommend it to everyone else!

I have four chair pads with a rubberized grip finish over foam. The fabric side is still in good condition, the bottom not so much! I’ve only had the pads for four years and with daily use, the rubberized finish has partially cracked and worn off. I they have also lost their “grip” and they were sliding around on the chairs. I tried to cut rug grip material to hold them in place, and it worked for about a week and then they started sliding around again. This stuff seems to have done the trick! I used a rubberized art painting tool to apply it and it went on perfectly. I was able to seal in the exposed foam also, it was like frosting over a crumbling cake in parts. I might add it to the bottoms of a couple of rugs that I have also, because they also have stopped gripping. I’d say give it a try if you’re at your wits end.
I applied it outside, it had almost a musty smel like mushrooms, didn’t bother me. Didn’t smell toxic, as I feared it might. Cleanup was easy, I just wiped the art tool with a paper towel.

I may have reviewed this when I first used it, but wanted to update. This saved a 15+ year old rug that had a lot of sentimental value to me. The ‘rubber’ backing had hardened, peeled, and cracked. I scraped all the hard bits off, even exposing the back of rug in places. I really worked the liquid in where it was especially needed so there were no dry areas. Let it dry and was really satisfied. Was invisible, pliable, and no cracking or flaking areas. I didn’t do the whole rug and didn’t use all the container, just in case I needed more on some areas. Stored the rug and put the lid on the container. Fast forward over a year later. Rug is still pliable and not flaking but I could tell the backing was rougher where I hadn’t used it. Decided to see if the container was still good and sure enough, it was still liquid. So used it up, coating as much of the backing as I could. Just FYI, first time I used a brush. This time I used a flexible silicone spatula to spread it, and then smoothed it with a hard piece of plastic and was able to cover almost the entire back. Easy clean up with soap and water. Highly recommended!

So far the product is working on two different throw rugs; I think the rugs are working quite well!

I have big dogs and after 2 months on one carpet it still does not slide. Much better then any sticky pads that are between the floor and the carpet. Also helps keep carpet fibers together. Easy to use. Dried quickly.

This worked perfectly for two new bathroom rugs I got that had no backing. I applied the product with a plastic scraper, which made it very easy to get an even coat. An old credit card would probably serve the purpose well. For two bathmat sized rugs, I used about ¾ of the jar for one coat each, and didn’t find that I actually needed the second coat. As others have mentioned, it does dry with a yellow tint, but it’s thick enough that it doesn’t soak through the fabric at all and the top side of the rugs look great. Definitely improves safety with the rugs secure on the floor, but still easy to move around for cleaning. The scent of the goop was a little unpleasant, but didn’t linger, and I was easily able to peel it off of the scraper and my fingers when I was done. Anything not dried washed away easily with soap and water. I would definitely recommend it to others!

Okay it says “up to 15 square ft”. But this rug is 6 square feet and it took the whole jar to do the suggested 2 coats. The rug no longer slips but I spent $22 to save a $20 rug. I’m not buying anymore. I have 2 of these and had thought I could do both of them.

I was skeptical…but you don’t need to be! This works flawlessly! I did two thin coats and it works just as it’s intended! My rug doesn’t move now, despite a dog running around and a toddler this product solved my problem.
