We gave this to my son and his partner for December instead of the usual advent calendar. They are big gamers so they LOVED this. They said it was well thought out and loved getting a variety of different challenges every day. Will get again.

This escape game Advent Calendar was a big hit with our adult family. We started it at Thanksgiving with the visiting relatives and have continued with various houseguests through the weeks. Everyone keeps asking about it after they have returned home! It would be really fun to buy a copy for various puzzle loving households and enjoy the common activity through the holidays. We did the game each night after dinner and it did not take too long. Occasionally we did 2 days worth if we had been gone. A few times we needed a clue, but it’s nice that the clues do not give the answer right away but just give hints to help you in the right direction. The puzzles were hard, easy, clever, and intriguing. The company put lots of thought into this game and the uses of materials and pictures! I highly recommend this Advent calendar escape game. While it is a Christmas theme, it could be used at any time of the year actually – even a summer vacation or family reunion.

This was purchased for our teenage son as an older alternative to a traditional advent calendar (his younger brothers had toy calendars). It was really surprising as we didn’t know what to expect … we all really enjoyed it! It definitely challenged us all, and we couldn’t wait until he opened a new door each day to see what he had to solve. It’s a great concept and the resources included are of a high quality. We would purchase any of the other designs again next year. Highly recommend, particularly for teenagers who love puzzles, mystery and mental challenges.

This is for the Golden Book Advent Calendar.
We enjoyed this thoroughly and are getting another one this year. I suspect the one this year will be easier now that we have a better idea of the types of solutions they may implement. You do have to literally think outside the box. The clue book gives you 3 levels of hints, I’ll call it nudge, explicit hint, and solution. The majority of the days were solved with no hints at all, 4 we turned to the nudge, 3 of those continued to explicit hint, and 2 of those days were completely exasperating and we ended up all the way to the solution. That being said we had no problem letting it sit for days, and just come back to it later, life happens. We sometimes had to skip days, then do a few in one. It was a lot of fun, we are two adults and one teenager (occasionally).

Bought this for my sisters family, we are all massive escape room fans. We’ve done maybe 20 of the Kosmos EXIT games and when I saw this it just stood out as a perfect gift for them. Puzzles are really well balanced, taking between 10-20 mins each day, so enough to be interesting and worthwhile but short enough so you don’t overload as you do one every single day. A very different advent calendar, gets the whole family involved and great fun. You don’t need to have done any of the EXIT games before, if you have it has a very familiar feel.

As a fan of many of the EXIT games, I knew that this would not be a letdown. The folks that designed it were very clever and used the box provided to its full potential. Unlike many advent calendars that have numbers printed on its doors, this one challenges you to move from one door to the next by solving puzzles. Sometimes, the puzzles are slightly ambiguous and don’t work as well as they should, but most are fun and satisfying.
A hint book is provided but my suggestion is to use it sparingly. The solution tends to present itself sooner or later and as you progress through the month, you develop a sense of what to do next.
Each morning, I woke up eager to tackle the day’s challenge while sipping my morning coffee. Occasionally, the answer came to me too quickly and I was disappointed that my session was over so soon. But more often than not, an adequate amount of solving time got my mind and my day off to a great start. There is most definitely something to be said to solving a particularly clever riddle early in the day – it provides one with a sense of great satisfaction.
I will undoubtedly purchase one of the other titles for next December. I feel corny saying this, but it made my Christmas very Merry!

I was more impressed with it than my grandson. Hoping he will like it more once he starts to play with it. Great concept !

My husband and I received this as an early Christmas gift, and so absolutely enjoyed working through the puzzles each day. The game is incredibly well-designed and inventive, we found our selves delighted with how it was put together so cleverly. The puzzles were, for the most part, easily doable within 5 minutes, with 2-3 being trickier. Definitely not too hard for the average person to figure them out. There is also a hint book if needed. Great story, great game play, and the gift of quality time with my husband is priceless! Really can’t say enough good things about this. I bought it for our friends after we did the first puzzle!!

This advent calendar is well worth the price. There are 24 different doors and each one has a different little puzzle to solve.
If you are familiar with the Exit escape room games you will know how to move through the rooms, but they are easy enough to pick up even if you’ve never done an escape room before. The puzzles range from very easy to a little tricky, nothing too hard but most always fun.
This is the second Exit advent calendar my friends and I have done. They were both so much fun and the puzzles varied. It was surprising how different all the puzzle mechanics are. You are always looking for three numbers to move to the next door but they really are creative with how you get to them.
Seriously they are so much fun to do. They are one and done as you have to destroy some things as you go and the puzzles aren’t redoable. That may sound like a negative but usually the destroying reveals something hidden in the box and it is so exciting and awesome.

This is the second exit advent calendar we have done, Very fun, and enjoying all the little puzzles, wide variety of difficulty in each one. However, It seems the room dividers were not glued/assembled very well. On one side all the rooms cards were getting mixed up due to the divider/side wall of the rooms attached to the bottom board. Still playable, we are managing , although it does make it a little more difficult making sure we find all the cards for the door we are playing, without accidently getting sneak peaks into doors that have not been opened yet.
