- PLUSH FELT CUSHION: Choose from three thickness options – 1/4″, 3/8”, and 1/2″ – offering various levels of a soft feel underfoot, sound absorption, insulation, and extra comfort for your area rugs in busy spaces.
- RECOMMENDED USE: This FELT ONLY rug pad is not intended to stop area rugs from slipping. These rug pads are crafted for use under area rugs that are anchored down by heavy items such as furniture, large household décor pieces, or heavier area rugs.
- LONG-LASTING PROTECTION: The durable felt protects your flooring from long-term damage, such as scratches, scrapes, punctures, other types of abrasion wear, and discoloration from your area rug backing.
- EXTEND LIFE OF RUG: Prevents area rugs from creasing, bunching, and wrinkling, and keeps your rug surface smooth on the floor to make vacuuming easier. (AREA RUG NOT INCLUDED)
- CUSTOMIZABLE SIZING: Simply score the surface and trim your rug pad with scissors to fit any area rug size or shape by cutting approximately 1-2 inch short of your area rugs perimeter.

I bought two new 5 x 7 area rugs that did not have pads on them and they are not very thick. They came with recommendations to use a carpet pad so I purchased two of these pads for my rugs. I chose the 3/8 inch rug pads because I wanted some cushioning under them but I didn’t want a pad that would be too thick and have my rugs look like they were sitting on top of a pad.
The pads were very easy to unroll and they stayed fairly flat. There were some folds in them from being folded up in the package but the folds evened out after a while. I was happy because I did not have to trim the pads at all, they fit perfectly under my 5 x 7 rugs and provided the nice cushiony feel that I wanted. My rugs are under tables so I did not need to use any carpet tape to keep the pads in place and after a week, they have not slid or moved around. My area rugs are elevated a little bit due to the thicker pad but it isn’t that noticable and I am very pleased with how they fit my area rugs and how nice it feels to walk on them.

Very soft, plush underlay

The ad says 100% felt. This suggests soft, flexible and spongy like a felt insole for your boots. This underpad crunches when you walk on it. It seems to be made up of some kind of felted material that includes hard chunks of a plastic like material. This is just the opposite of what we wanted from a carpet underpad. As it was too much trouble to send it back we used it under a basement rug. Definitely do not recommend the product.

Not all rug pads are recommended for luxury vinyl plank flooring, so I was pleased to find this rug pad option. I have purchased in the 4×6, 5×7, 8×10 and 9×12 sizes for all the rooms in my home. This pad also comes in different thickness options. Tightly constructed, so use sharp scissors to cut to size. Highly recommend.

I bought this pad for a washable rug. It’s nice and thick so it provides comfort while walking on it.

This came in one piece and was square (some reviews mention underpads this size arriving in 2 pieces and not being totally square). It adds a nice softness to our area rug. It was exactly the size indicated & I had to trim a bit on two sides so it wasn’t exactly the same size as our 10×14′ area rug (I didn’t want it to show on the edges) and it was very difficult to do, but that’s because it’s so dense, which is a good thing. I didn’t notice any unusual smell and I’m very happy with the purchase.

I bought the 1/4” thick – I believe the 1/2” might be too thick for comfort & too difficult to cut (box cutter worked better than scissors).

I wish it had a non-slip bottom but their non-slip pad’s were out of my price range. The cushion is nice and adds a little more comfort to my carpets – I did this because my dog is getting old and she can’t get in-and-out of her dog bed anymore so she sleeps on the carpets more often (easier to get up and down).
If you buy this pad also buy rug tape at the same time or this will slip around very easily.

We bought a beautiful rug on a trip to Morocco and had it shipped to our home. Once we got it down, we realized it felt thin and uncomfortable on our tile floor. So we decided to buy a rug pad.
We had previously purchased rubber rug pads, and while they worked, they were very thin and didn’t add much to the cushiness of the rug, so this time, we decided to try a thicker felt rug pad.
It arrived quickly, and we unpacked it, put it down on the tile floor in our bedroom, and placed the rug on top. We realized that the rug pad was about an inch bigger than our rug. So we took a pair of ordinary scissors and cut a tad more than an inch so the pad would not be seen under the rug. It cut fairly easily, without any felt bits falling all over. We placed the rug on the pad, and it looked great—not too thick.
But the real test was walking on it. It felt great (no pun) – not too cushy. It made our Moroccan rug feel like a thicker, more substantial rug. It did not feel like we had a rug pad under it. We’re so happy we’re considering replacing our other rubber rug pads with felt ones.

This was really difficult to cut, I would suggest an actual carpet cutter blade , but it’s very plush. My rug on top of this 1/2 padding does slide around on top of the pad a few inches- so now I’m buying a separate carpet to carpet pad to put between the actual 1/2 pad and the rug. I also HAD to put down a rubberized regular waffle type thin floor pad for wood floors as a base and then layer the 1/2 padding on top of it and then finally the rug on top of the 1/2 pad. The thin waffle rubber waffle pad was absolutely necessary as the 1/2 padding slid terribly and dangerously on my wood floor which is in hallway at the top of a long staircase ( 17 steps). However, buying one of those regular waffle type grippers for under rugs solved the 1/2 inch pad sliding on the wood floor and it does not move. Now I’m hoping buying a carpet to carpet gripper will stop the rug that I bought the padding for from sliding at all on the 1/2 inch pad. This means I had to buy something to put under this pad and something to put on top of it, and for that reason, I would look around again before purchasing this, even though it’s plush to put on a wood floor because it’s way too dangerous sliding around on wood floors and rugs on top will move somewhat revealing the pad. I am hoping the carpet to carpet thin pad will finally solve this problem as it was quite difficult, and you need strong hands ( I am a female with small hands) to cut the padding, and of course I cannot return it now.

I had to order this pad three times to get the right size. I ordered the size I needed, but the first two times I received a different size. Perseverance paid off and the right size was delivered.
The pad is an ideal thickness for under our rug. We use our sofa as the weight to anchor it. Otherwise it would be quite slippery. It seems durable and well made. It was a great price too!
I would recommend this pad, but be sure to confirm the size before you throw away any packaging.

Great for adding cushioning. Does not provide slip resistance. Did not have to trim.

Easily cut to size with a box cutter and a cutting mat under it. Makes the basement floor so much warmer.
