These are a great product and a great price. I bought them for my kid’s rooms because their windows are flooded with light both in the early morning and in the early evening. They are young, so going to bed at 7:30p was difficult because there was so much light in the room. I didn’t want to put blinds with cords in the room not only the risk of them choking, but they can use it to pull down the blinds. I used blankets to cover the window, but there was still lots of light leaking in making the room pretty bright. Plus the blankets covering the windows looked a little odd.
First, I put up one shade in my older child’s room and there was an instant difference. I wouldn’t have thought it would have been so dramatic with just a black paper pleated shade. Next I put one in my younger child’s room, which gets even more light, and you can see the difference in the photo. The first photo has the blanks over the window and you can see just how much light is coming in. There is still light after I put up the shade, but it’s much less and there are no blankets up! There would probably be even less light if I spent a little more time in cutting it better.
Cutting it is easy. I would recommend using a ruler and a blade to cut all the layers at once or in as few strokes as possible. I used a pair of scissors and just kinda held it up and cut it. It worked fine, but it’s not super straight and doesn’t fit the window perfectly. I might take them down and use new once since this comes with 6 shades. I haven’t used the clips yet, but they seem straight forward. I don’t know that I want to use them in the kid’s room because they might pull them off and either put them in their mouth or lose them.
If I have a need for more shade I will not hesitate to buy these again.
Update: I’ve had these for about 2 weeks now. They still work great, but the double sided tape doesn’t hold up very well. I’ve found it has fallen down every 2-3 days. The clips seem to make it fall down more, my guess is the extra weight. I’m going to try using velcro so I can take them down completely if I need to. One note I didn’t make before was the the shade didn’t go completely down to the bottom of the window without pulling on it. After being up for a few days it does stretch out to the bottom of the window. The only other comment is that you need two hands to put this up and put the clips on it. It’s not a bad thing, but you can’t do it with a baby in one hand. Overall still a great product.

After successfully cutting two shades to length, I was actually very pleased with the installation. However, both window shades fell down by themselves within a couple of hours after putting them up. To make matters worse, the shades fell in such a way that the adhesive layer stuck to another part of the shade about one-third of the way down and basically ruined itself. Now I know why this product is sold in a six-pack. I found that I have to use thumbtacks to hold them up. Cutting was relatively easy. I used a sharp kitchen butcher knife and found a continuous sawing action to work best. Do not use a serrated bladed knife. You need to put a weight on the widest part of the shades while cutting. Otherwise, when you are almost finished cutting, it will unfold itself making it difficult to cut the remaining layers.
As one other reviewed stated, the full length of these shades is about 72 inches. That means for a standard 3 foot by 6 foot window, you will not have a pleated appearance anymore. Yes, you can see where the folds are, but it really looks stretched out. And that brings us to the next point. I had to add my own double sided tape to the end to hold it against the window sill. It would have been nice if they had put peel and stick adhesive on both ends. But the ever so slight stretching to full length pulls on the upper adhesive thus pulling it loose after a couple of hours. It stretches out on its own, especially at the top where gravity is greatest due to the accumulated weight of the paper.
After I finished my installation of these shades, I was ready to give it a solid 5 star rating. But after they fell and the resulting mess with it sticking to itself, I lost my enthusiasm. But now I know I must use thumbtacks to hold it up. I will still use the shades with thumbtacks. But I really do think they should have added enough length to maintain some pleated appearance in a standard 3X6 foot window. This is a very common sized window. Of course, for this price there is no pull cord to adjust the length if you want to let in some sunlight or look outside.
Update: I think I made a mistake when I installed the adhesive side to the underside of the window opening because this is a painted drywall surface. (But it is a smooth flat surface.) So I changed where I put the adhesive side to the frame of the window itself. This is a fairly thin surface, but the adhesive sticks a lot better to the metal frame than the painted drywall. It has stayed put for neary two weeks now.)
It is definitely opaque to sunlight. This is what I wanted for my home theater room. Prior to this, there was way just too much reflection in my new 65 inch Panasonic HDTV to watch a movie in the daytime. So these shades do work quite well. Make sure you cut it snugly to the right width to keep out unwanted sunlight around the edges. Measure the width at the top and bottom and the middle to find the narrowest dimension to customize the shade width.

We bought these on recommendation from a baby sleep expert, Cara, from TakingCaraBabies. I am SO GLAD they came in a 6 pack because we moved shortly after having a baby and I didn’t have to reorder or attempt to save the ones hung at my previous home. The first two didn’t stick like we thought and continuously fell. I didn’t clean the inside of the window or the wall I was trying to stick them too. I ended up duct taping them because I was over dealing with them. #hello9monthspregnant At our new house I used the adhesion it came with but I also duct taped it from the start so I could have them hung one and done. My child’s room has three windows and the remaining three blinds I had were able to cover all the windows. These are easy to cut and use. With some tape to help they are a quick, cheap and easy way to darken a room. A little light still snuck in on the edges where I couldn’t get it to align perfect and where I had to add a second panel to cover a wide window, but overall it does a really good job. I placed these on the glass panes of the window and have blinds installed over them. Over the blinds I have trash bags to cover the last tiny bit of light that comes through the cracks and blackout curtains on top of it all. My child’s room is pitch black day or night and really makes a huge difference in his sleep environment!

These easy-to-install, affordable blinds are perfect for making my bedroom darker (I bought the black ones). Unfortunately, as my bedroom window gets the afternoon sun, and black absorbs heat, both appear to compromise the adhesive strip, causing the blinds to fall down on a near daily basis, especially if/when there is extra weight applied to the bottoms, using the plastic clips. They also fall WITHOUT extra weight.
Again, I suspect the direct sunlight/heat in MY window melts the adhesive to the point of losing its grip. I have some double sided tape to help reinforce the adhesive now. No big deal.

These are honestly so good. Cheap because they are made of paper, but they really get the job done. I cut one and lined it up with a second to fill the whole window. Taped them together. Then added a 3rd on top to cover the gap. Sooooo dark. Perfect for my night shift nurse girlfriend. She loves them!

We put these up in our room and nursery to help our baby sleep. I read other reviews that they fell down so we put them up during the day in our room to start since she sleeps in our room only at night but in nursery during the day and sure enough they fell down about 2 hours after putting up even though we held them in place for 5 mins after putting up. So, my husband used a staple gun to fix them to the window and so far no issues since. The ones in our room we keep down all the time so they’ve expanded down with gravity to completely hold in place. However the ones in the nursery are pinned up most of the time since we only put them down for nap time which means they need something to hold them down otherwise they spring back up. What’s worked is using small clear command hooks fixed to the frame that I can tuck the blinds under to hold down. Clipping them back up takes a bit of finagling as you need both hands to fold the blinds up but then you need to use one hand to manage the clip so what I’ve found works well is using both hands yo fold it up then moving my left hand to hold the center (the sides will then fall down) and use my right hand to manage the clip. Takes some practice getting the hang of them. They are definitely not as as easy as a blind with a cord to pull up and down but for $45 to cover 6 windows you can’t expect more from this product that does the job as intended (100% blackout as long as you measure the window frame size properly). Very happy with the purchase!

No están mal, cumplieron su función y cubren muy bien del sol. El pegamento despues de 1 mes comienza a despegarse pero se puede vovler a pegar facilmente. Nos sacaron de un apuro en lo que compramos cortinas de verdad.
