Pro: I purchased this brand and Vanilla Cupcake candle because I wanted to freshen up my apartment and also have an emergency power outage candle for when we have those California rolling blackouts to prevent electrical fires during summer heatwaves when air-conditioners are in high use. I don’t have one of those, but everyone is affected when our power company has to do it. I can rest easy with this candle in its own glass jar and it has a strong scent within a half hour of burning it that I’m not allergic to and my partner said he thinks it smells like a vanilla tapioca pudding rather than a cupcake, and I agree. My small senior apartment complex isn’t allowed to have candles that aren’t in a safe heat resistant glass container so this is perfect. It is important to trim the wick prior to using it and each time thereafter to 1/4″. Instructions are listed on the product box. Keep out of drafts to lessen the wick smoking and extend the life of the candle.
Con: We moved the candle from the bedroom to the living room (which is much larger) because the candle scent becomes very noticeable after about 20 minutes or less in each room. If you have a larger home (mine is 600 sq. ft.) it may take longer to fill the entire home. I’m not sure if that’s a pro or a con, but I mention it because I suspect it depends more on how long you want to enjoy the pleasant light. I highly recommended it even though we are both sensitive to all fragrances. Hope that helps folks decide. I have enjoyed the second one I purchased even more because the weather has been pleasant enough to leave the windows open. Definitely a positive for me now!

This is such a nice, sweet smelling candle – but not “cloying.” Done very well by Yankee Candle, you smell different things in “swirls” with this one; A few minutes of pure vanilla, followed by the strong scent of flour and butter and then – yes, that is definitely “buttercream” frosting..
And it burns slow. About two weeks if you burn every night when you get home from work and turn off before you go to sleep.

I have used Yankee candles for years. Smell is long lasting and consistent. Ordered from Amazon for a few years. Today’s batch of two had one arrive completely shattered, even when packed inside egg crate. Have to go thru Yankee to see if they will make good on their product. Will update as to if they did or not. UPDATE: I am getting a new candle from Yankee. Their customer service was quick and efficient, no hassles. Will continue to order from them.

I’m never sure of what will come when I order these candles off Amazon but these ones came and we’re not broken.. they had some extra type of residue from the candles on the outside but it wiped right off and we have been enjoying the burn time and smell. Good value of money compared to shopping in store for these

Purchased this as a gift, recipient loved however they said it did have a strong scent and is pretty sure like other candles sometimes when they’re lit the scent isn’t as strong.
